Attract the Right Job or Clientele: Find Your Greatness to Lead
We read about leaders to sometimes wonder how they established themselves. Was it a natural gift or a long struggle? Did they do soul searching to then work on self improvement? Did doing all of this lead them to become who they are today? No doubt it was a little bit of all of the above combined.
Mindset is a powerful means to either detract or propel us forward
My Story
Through the years, I’ve been advised to find greatness within. The first time I heard the words spoken, I silently thought, “what greatness?” It was the years of not fitting in with the norm that had me question the possibility. But I began to pay attention to numerous speakers who provided a similar message.
Mindset
As confidence built, I came to realize that the uniqueness residing within each of us is not to be viewed as our limitations. Instead, our unique qualities are to be viewed as our greatness. Accordingly, I flipped how my unique style was to be viewed. It was this simple mental change of outlook that enabled me to lead by teaching with my newfound thought.
Leap Forward with Greatness
Finding greatness within is just the first step. This is where many advisors err. The remarkable path is of those who use their unique talent to empower others. Last week, I attended the The PWIC Global Impact Conference and it was breath-taking. Each member is nothing short of remarkable. The commonality is that each works on a humanitarian project designed to improve the lives of others in addition to exchanging ideas with one another. To learn more click here.
Find Your Greatness
Always learn from the good and the negative that comes your way. When negativity is heard, consider why that might be. Examine the remark from all angles. One possibility is that the remark has merit. On the other hand, either it was made because your talent isn’t understood or it makes the other person uncomfortable. The sales technique of Reframing applies. Put a new picture frame or focus on the topic for a positive outlook.
Magnify
The most important lesson is to focus on what you enjoy most. So if the remark brought attention to just that, applaud it. The next steps are to plan ahead by improving upon and expanding that very talent. This applies to all areas of life to include personal, career and business.

Share Your Greatness
There are so many ways for you to share what you learn along the way that only a few possibilities are listed here. Share your insights via social media postings, articles and interviews. Step up to become involved with a special community. Get involved with an organization and potentially consider developing or contributing to a humanitarian project. An added benefit of sharing greatness is that of establishing a well recognized personal brand.
The larger picture is that together we may positively impact society.
