Attract the Right Job or Clientele:  

Question, Research and Apply Knowledge for Acceptance

This past week, several scenarios required me questioning how to achieve completion of each project and then planning for doing so.  While happy to be of service, technology know-how interfered with my comfort level on one such project, and admitted lack of information for the others.  Thank goodness for ease of research on the Internet.

In reality, it is far easier to decline opportunities so that we don’t have to put pressure on ourselves to figure out how to professionally delivery what is needed.  On the other hand, to do so will only see our businesses and careers decline.  Making the commitment to see projects through to the end is far more prudent.  It helps to create a schedule for learning what is required of us.

Upon searching for keywords online, a series of suggested sites appeared.  Visiting several, I was lead to articles, blogs, white papers and videos.  All were highly informative.  For me, it almost felt as if I were back in school as I researched the information for a variety of documents.  In the end, much was to be learned about newer uses of technology.  The time spent was a well worthwhile endeavor, as it now feels good to have the up-to-date knowledge.

 

The benefit of others witnessing your dedication to learning is they recognize they can count on you to deliver your best.  This is how additional opportunities are received and careers advanced.  While on a job, you may be next in line to lead the team, and possibly be on your way to earning an increase in pay.

Whether an entrepreneur or employed, your personal brand demonstrates the strength and courage you possess to continue to learn and improve.  On other levels, the new knowledge provides a greater range of insights to share on social media with your followings.  Doing so serves to increase recognition of your work and over time converts to sales. Should you attend in-person meetings, your peers express admiration of all you may contribute to projects.

In other words, the attention you pay upfront to doing things correctly the first time around, will pay off handsomely from that time forward.  The effort becomes part of your branding effort to earn repeat business, referrals and testimonials, otherwise known as the Smooth Sale!
