Teamwork Encourages Added Sales

Do you have others assisting you and do you consider them part of your Team?
One of the contractors who worked on our home does excellent work himself but some of his team members had lazy habits. When the contractor returned from vacation we sweetened the idea of a couple re-do’s with the promise of additional work.

As a friend and as a trainer, I suggested to the entrepreneurial contractor that he have a talk with his team about the do’s and don’ts of the trade. For instance, it is not a good idea to wash paint brushes over a homeowner’s garden because it will discourage future business. The contractor can’t possibly supervise everyone at all times, therefore his men represent him and must be on the same page for conducting business.

Our conversation ended on a very positive note; the touch ups will be completed and we will be giving him additional work. Due to his outstanding customer service and building of relationships, he is enjoying a Smooth Sale!
